years experience in purchasing for a boat manufacturer. This role requires a detailed and organized individual that will focus on managing suppliers and materials in order to optimize the companys procurement efforts and practices, working to achieve the optimal balance of cost, quality and delivery. The position directs, implements, and administers purchasing strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the companys goals and objectives. Suitable applicants will have a thorough knowledge of purchasing policies and will be experienced at establishing strategic relationships with key suppliers. You will have extensive experience of agreeing terms, negotiating discount structures and volume rebates. This experience will have been gained hands-on where you've been procuring physical supplies as opposed to group services.

Responsibilities include:
Ensure that both production and non-production related materials and parts are on hand to eliminate production delays.
Maintain cost reviews and act accordingly when issues arise.
Ensure raw material receiving is complete and transactions are completed timely and accurately.
Maintain part/location masters.
Manage the procurement of both direct and indirect material for the support of a manufacturing plan via a MRP system.
Work with production scheduling to maximize on-time delivery and inventory turns. Additionally, this includes collaborating with individuals within all levels of the company to plan, set, and support a production plan.
Aggressively ensures that both direct and indirect material is available to eliminate production delays. This includes the planning, storage, and control of raw material utilizing lean and JIT philosophies.
Administers accurate physical inventory stores vs. perpetual inventory. This includes utilizing a cycle count system and other methods to manage inventory accuracy; identifying root cause for inaccuracies and establishing corrective action plans to eliminate future issues.
Manages the vendor approval process to ensure suppliers are qualified to meet all needs.
Other desirable skills/traits include:

years of purchasing experience in the boat manufacturing industry
Demonstrated written / verbal communication skills
Attention to detail
Capable of independent and critical thought
Able to be proactive in solving problems and developing creative solutionsEstimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
