Manufacturing Engineer, Composites


  • Support, and/or develop work instructions, procedures, techniques, materials and processes, supply chain, nonconformance reporting and resolution, and obsolescence issues for composites
  • Work closely and positively with product and structures engineering teams to support process development, materials implementation, assembly techniques, and to accomplish new product introduction for large composite launch structures. Participate in the development and purchase of new equipment and tooling
  • Provide inputs to expenditure tracking and budgeting; develop estimates for materials and capital assets
  • Training and skills development for team members; mentor early career team members
  • Participate in production control, manufacturing planning, and continuous improvement activities, utilizing lean and six sigma tools. Help develop, achieve, monitor, and communicate key performance parameters and improvement goals


  • Minimum of a B. S. degree in aerospace, mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering; physics; or other major requiring engineering or manufacturing core courses. Composites curriculum is a plus
  • 3-10+ years experience working in composites development or production in hands-on roles
  • Expertise in one or more of the following: automated fiber placement (AFP) and tape laying (ATL), lamination, large out-of-autoclave (OoA) oven curing, nondestructive evaluation, trimming/drilling/routing/machining, robotics, tooling, fixturing and handling, bonding, thermal protection systems, integration, training, and production control systems.

  • Must be a U. S. citizen or prermanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U. S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
