Vehicle Description In December 1969, an auto sold in the State of Hawaii signaled the dawn of a new era.
With the sale of an N600, American Honda was officially in the automobile business.
And a new Automobile Division was soon established to set up sales in the entire United States.
(Fifty Years of American Dreams, American Honda Motor Co.
, Inc.
) From these humble beginnings grew the Japanese automobile juggernaut, the American Honda Motor Co.
, Inc.
Automobile Division.
In 1971 Honda complemented the N600 with the introduction of the sportier Z600 to the American market.
These cars were the stepping stones for the introduction of the Honda Civic in 1973.
You are offered a chance to own this excellent example of that history with this rare car show favorite.
This 1972 Honda AZ600 Coupe was purchased in 2013 as a partially refurbished/assembled project.
The body was refinished by the previous owner in the original Honda color, Caroline Yellow and was partially reassembled.
The seller subsequently fully disassembled the car for inspection/refurbishment and reassembled the body panels and overhauled the matching numbers 598cc parallel twin with new replacement piston rings, gaskets, seals, timing chain, guides, and rollers.
Additional work by the seller included overhauling the wiring harnesses, brakes, steering, fuel system, dashboard, and instruments along with refurbishing the interior.
The car is equipped with a four-speed manual transmission, chrome bumpers, 10 steel wheels, pop-out rear quarter windows, a push-button AM/FM radio, and a cabin heater.
This AZ600 is offered with a tool kit, an owner's manual, an owner's warranty and service policy manual, a jack, a spare wheel, and a clean Florida title in the seller's name.

The five-digit mechanical odometer shows 96k miles, approximately 1,500 of which were added under current ownership.
Total mileage is unknown.
The headliner, door cards, front carpet, door seals, and window guides have been replaced.
The seller notes cracks on the dashboard, which is covered by a dash mat.
Photos of the dashboard uncovered are viewable in the gallery.
The seller also notes, a crack on the upper plastic hatch, frame buckling of the lower hatch panel and paint damage and filler cracks on the left-front fender.
The transverse-mounted 598cc SOHC parallel twin is air-cooled and has been overhauled by the seller with work that included honing the cylinders and fitting new piston rings, timing chain, guides and rollers, seals, and gaskets as well as rebuilding the cylinder head.
Power is sent to the front wheels through an integrated primary chain-drive and four-speed manual transaxle that was overhauled under current ownership.
The seller notes the CV axles were serviced and fitted with new replacement rubber boots.
Additional work included servicing the primary drive, installing a new clutch friction disc, repairing the exhaust system, and overhauling the carburetor.
The seller notes that the alternator brushes and ignition points were replaced and that additional ignition components were refurbished.
All five steel 10 wheels are mounted with steel belted radial 145R10 Camac BN 313 tires, with the full-size spare located in a compartment behind the rear bumper.

Stopping power is provided by discs up front and drums at the rear.
Service by the seller is said to have included replacing the front brake pads and shoes, resurfacing rotors and drums, overhauling master cylinder, calipers and wheel cylinders and replacing the rear gas shocks.
The replacement dashboard garnish does not contain a riveted serial number tag as it would not reflect the correct serial number.
The other serial number tags, as well as the number stamped on the firewall, read AZ6001010545, which matches the number listed on the title.
Photos of the serial number tags and firewall stamping can be viewed in the gallery.
This car has been stored in an air conditioned garage and ventures out for car shows around Florida's Space Coast and occasional jaunts around town.
It has always used ethanol-free fuel.
It draws much attention wherever it goes, especially at car shows where attention to detail is appreciated.
